Kansas city, Mo, October 13, 2020- Boeing (NYSE: BA) entered into a patent and technology license with Missouri base Far UV Technologies to manufacture a Far Ultraviolet (222nm) wand designed to sanitize airplane flight decks and interiors. Boeing designed and developed the technology as part of the company’s Confident Travel Initiative (CTI) to support customers and enhance the safety and well-being of passengers and crew members during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Far UV Technologies Secures US Air Force Contract

June 30, 2020 – Far UV Technologies was awarded a Direct to Phase II SBIR project to install and demonstrate “Krypton Disinfection Lighting” in US Air Force facilities and in aircarft applications. Far UV Technologies is providing air and surface disinfection technology to better protect the Air Force and the rest of the defense community from COVID and other biological threats. Columbia University Irving Medical Center will also be providing independent safety testing and analysis.

Barons Bus sees UV light as ‘the best way’ to Disinfect Coaches

The Cleveland-based Barons Bus is the first U.S. motorcoach operator to install FAR UV Lighting in its vehicles.

The fixtures are mounted inside the bus and continuously sanitize air with UV light

We have the ability to continuously disinfect while the bus is going down the road. That’s very different from the sprays and everything else, just because you have to wait until people get off so you can respray versus this light has the ability to continuously disinfect as the bus traveling down the road,” Barons Vice President Patrick Goebel said. “It’s also safe for human skin and human eyes, which is different from the other UV lighting, as well. So that’s really what caught our attention.”
